What is a tricone bit?
A tricone bit is a mechanical drill bit located in the bottom hole assembly. By rotating and creating mechanical friction with the rock being drilled, the bit removes the surface of the rock. Tricone Bit is made to use the force generated by the revolving drill string and the mud supply to drive the well further.
Why choose a tricone bit?
Tricone rotary bits are sometimes a good alternative to a DTH hammer. Available in TCI (carbide buttons) and mill tooth configurations. TCI bits are available for Medium Soft, Medium Hard, and Hard formations.
